This session will be a crash course in Diigo. Like Delicious, Diigo’s very basic function is social bookmarking. However, Diigo goes far beyond Delicious and allows users to interact with online texts as they would with printed texts: users can highlight, annotate, save, organize, export, and share websites. In this session, the presenter will start by demonstrating Diigo’s capabilities. Next, she will show you Diigo’s user interface, including the Teacher Console. Finally, we will focus on using Diigo for resource sharing in a classroom/online classroom and for everything from conducting personal online research without printing—even to PDF—to recording plagiarism. NOTE: Prior to the session, you should set up a Diigo account and request educator access. I recommend that you do all of this at least 3 days before the session, as Diigo will have to approve your educator’s access, which you will need to see the Teacher Console.
