MAY ARTWALK RECEPTION ( 6:00 pm )
“FINE ART STUDENT SHOWCASE & EXHIBITION SPRING 2012”
OTC Fine Arts Gallery 3rd Floor Gillioz will hold an opening reception during First Friday Artwalk, Friday, May 4th, 2012 from 6:00pm-10:00pm. We will be featuring artwork from Spring 2012 Ozarks Technical Community College Fine Art Students. Highlighted Visual Art classes are Drawing I and II, Two Dimensional Design, Three Dimensional Design, Printmaking, and Painting I. Throughout the evening we will feature performances from our Music department classes including Songwriting, Piano, Classical Guitar I and II students, as well as the OTC Choir. Theater 101 students will be performing short one act plays beginning at 8:30pm.
On the first floor of the Gillioz Theater, OTC Fine Art Gallery will proudly feature the “reveal” of photographs printed on aluminum from this year’s Storm Drain Reveal 2012 murals. Storm water drains don’t make for a typical canvas, but 10 local artists have used them as backdrops for colorful painted murals to raise awareness about clean water. For the second year in a row, artists have been painting select storm drains in various locations throughout the city as part of the Storm Drain Reveal 2012 is a project of James River Basin Partnership (JRBP) and the City of Springfield Department of Public Works. Kat Allie, Instructor of Fine Arts at Ozarks Technical Community College, is a partner in Storm Drain Reveal provides technical assistance and encourages submissions from her students. This year, seven of the ten artists chosen are OTC Fine Art students. The other three are local community artists.
Muralists include: Michele Ellison, Laura Lynch, Cassie Brasher, Kat Philbin, Jeanene Turney, Travis Burnbee, Joshua O’Byrne and Jessica West, Kayla Campbell, Anthony Weaver and Samantha Lowther.

OTL-101-WB1-12SP: Introduction To Online Teaching And Learning ( 8:00 am )
Introduction to Online Teaching and Learning is a four-week professional development training class delivered asynchronously online via Blackboard. OTL 101 is an introduction to the Blackboard course management system and an overview of course design and pedagogical considerations for online teaching and learning. The assignments build on one another to create a basic sequence of instruction that will help learners cultivate skills and techniques for online course development. To facilitate the design and organization of course materials, learners will each be given access to an individual practice course in Blackboard. Learners will interact with the course instructor and fellow online instructors in an asynchronous online format while creating online-course content.
This course is 4 weeks long and earns OTC employees 3 CEUs of Professional Development. Fees are as follows:
OTC Employee: $50** OR you may use the OTC faculty tuition waiver form https://intra.otc.edu/id/hr/Tuition-FeeWaiversOTC.pdf.
Non-OTC Employees: $200**
**OTC Online training courses are offered on limited basis; scheduling of OTC Online training courses is determined by identified need and levels of interest. Completion of OTC Online training courses does not imply a guarantee of a teaching appointment at OTC or any other institution. Enrollment cannot begin until fees are paid or tuition waivers are received.

Cardio Tone Class ( 12:00 - noon )
Tuesdays and Thursdays 12-12:25 and 12:30-12:55 (class is divided into two 25-minute sessions).
Using interval, circuit training exercises to increase heart rate for cardio and resistance exercises to tone – this workout is for anyone. This class will contain some outside exercises.

Pilates is a core building exercise that improves flexibility and agility. Stability balls and resistance bands will be used in class for total body exercises.
